Our Commitment to environment incorporates environmental considerations to minimize its negative impact on the environment. To minimize the impact we follow Green Meeting and events concept by taking following measures.

Measures to be taken

1. Put it in writing. Establish an environmental statement or policy for the meeting, and get buy in for it from the meeting host organization's management. Share the policy with suppliers, delegates and speakers.
2. Use paperless technology. Use new media and electronic technology to cut down your paper use. Create a conference web site; offer electronic registration and confirmation; and advertise using the web and/or email.
3. Meet close. Reduce distances traveled by speakers and delegates. Choose a host city that's close to as many delegates as possible, and within the city choose a venue and hotel that are close to the airport and within walking distance of each other.
4. Practice the 3Rs. Ask hotel and meeting venue to provide visible and accessible reduction, reuse and recycling services for paper, metal, plastic and glass.
5. Bulk up. Have food & beverage service provider use bulk dispensers for sugar, salt, pepper, cream and other condiments.
6. Lighten your Stay. Choose a hotel that offers a linen reuse program and bulk dispensers for shampoos and soaps in guest suites.
7. Eat green. Include vegetarian meals, and have meals planned using local, seasonal produce.
8. Close the recycling loop. Have all printed materials published on recycled paper, using vegetable-based inks, and on both sides of the page.
9. Save energy. Coordinate with the meeting venue to ensure that energy lights and air conditioning will be turned off when rooms are not in use.
10. Spread the word! Tell delegates, speakers and the media about success.

2. To enhance skills of youth of the local community where we operate, we provide regular training to our employees who are from the local community.
3. We run special trips for under privileged where we provide them free trips to give them an opportunity to experience the various facilities we have in our Resort including Adventure Park. These are run under special qualified staff for their over all development.
4. We make all efforts to preserve the local customs and culture and cuisine and every effort is made to continue on this aspect.

Commitment towards Environment:

Shikhar Group of companies make every effort to see that no disturbance is made to the eco system where we operate our tours. Therefore, we are committed and signed the Pledge with Adventure Tour Operators Association of India, of which we are founder members, and also with Himalayan Environment Trust, of which our Managing Director is a Trustee.

1. LIMIT DEFORESTATION: We will make no open fires and discourage others from doing so, Where water is heated by scarce firewood, we will not use it or use as little of it as possible. Wherever possible, we will choose accommodation that uses kerosene or fuel-efficient firewood stoves.
2. PLANT SAPLINGS: We will take saplings and encourage our tourists to help plant them near our campsites or on the trails.
3. NON-BIO DEGRADABLE GARBAGE: We will leave campsites clean and take back all non-biodegradable litter to the road head/towns for proper disposal. We will only bury biodegradable food waste.
4. KEEP LOCAL WATER CLEAN: Toilet facilities will be pitched at least 30 meters away from the water source and all waste will be covered properly. We will not allow detergents to be used in streams and springs.
5. PLANTS LEFT IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT: We will not take away cuttings, seeds and roots that are illegal in many parts of the Himalayas.
6. RESPECT LOCAL CULTURES: We will promote the appreciation and preservation of religious places and local villages by never allowing clients to buy religious objects or heirlooms from remote villages.
7. ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF ENERGY FOR FUEL: Where possible, we will convert to solar power such as solar lanterns, solar cookers etc.
8. STATIONERY & OTHER PUBLICITY MATERIAL ON RECYCLED PAPER: We will introduce / increase the use of recycled/hand made paper for our stationery and other publicity items such as brochures etc.
